Every occasion piece we make is designed and cut for one person.

Durga Puja

Puja is the city's high season, and the outfit that works for it has particular demands: it must survive pandal-hopping in October humidity, look right in daylight and at night, and photograph well in crowds. We design with breathable fabric weights and silhouettes that move — and we ask clients to commission by early August, because production slots genuinely do fill.

Receptions and engagements

Evening events under artificial light are where fabric choice and surface work matter most. Sequin and beadwork read very differently under warm venue lighting than in a studio, which is something we discuss at the design stage rather than discovering afterwards.

Sangeet and cocktail evenings

These call for clothes you can move in. Indo-western silhouettes, dhoti and pant drapes, and structured separates all work well when the evening involves dancing rather than sitting.

Designed for the Event, Not the Season

A good occasion outfit answers four questions before a single line is drawn: where is it, what time of day, what will you be doing in it, and what are you wearing with it. A garment designed for a garden ceremony at four in the afternoon should not be the same garment designed for a hotel ballroom at nine at night, even if the brief sounds identical.

Bring the invitation, the venue, and the jewellery if you have chosen it. The more specific the brief, the better the outcome.

Timelines

Standard bespoke occasion wear takes two to four weeks from the point your design, measurements and advance are confirmed. Heavily embellished pieces take four to six weeks. During Puja season and the winter wedding months, book earlier than you think you need to.

One complimentary alteration is included within seven days of delivery for minor fit adjustments.

Our Kankurgachi studio is open Monday to Saturday, 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and we recommend booking so a stylist can take you through fabric, silhouette and embroidery properly. If you are unsure what you want, that is a perfectly good starting point — most of our best commissions begin with a conversation rather than a fixed idea.

Start by early August. Puja is the busiest period in the Kolkata calendar and production slots fill well in advance. A standard bespoke garment needs two to four weeks, and you want fitting time in hand rather than a rushed final week.

Can you design something for a specific dress code?

Yes. Bring the invitation or the brief to your consultation. We design to venue, time of day and dress code, which matters more than it sounds — an outfit that photographs beautifully in daylight can read quite differently under evening lighting.

Is everything customisable?

Yes. Every occasion piece is designed and cut individually, so silhouette, neckline, sleeve, length, fabric, colour and embroidery are all open to you.
